Chad and Elizabeth finished their summer in California and came out to visit. (Unfortunately family business required Matt to be in Florida during their stay.) They were able to stay long enough to have a day with my family before they returned to Utah. We have been trying to enjoy the local events and so we all went to the Pumpkin Festival.

We were blessed to have lots of family visit the past few weeks. Their visits couldn't have come at a better time. We were able to enjoy a few moments of the 67 days of sunshine the Pittsburgh area gets each year. Shortly after my parents and sister arrived we went to the Pumpkin Festival in the small town of Houston. My dad made sure the pumpkins were safe while the rest of us walked around the festival.

We had to see Pittsburgh and one of our favorite views is from the top of the Duquesne incline. It was just a little wet and cold, but still an incredible sight. It was cold and wet for most of my family's visit, but we didn't mind. It gave us an excuse to stay home and work on a few projects, enjoy the fireplace and just visit. One of our biggest challenges was deciding what kind of homemade ice cream to enjoy each night. We had cinnamon (a personal favorite, but you have to use candy flavoring for it to taste really yummy,) thin mint/peppermint w/chocolate swirl and snickers w/caramel swirl.

My family left yesterday, in the rain, and of course today the sun was shining.
