A Tale of Two Turkeys

Thanksgiving was a little different for us this year. First of all we learned that it's a lot of work. (We thought we appreciated just how much work in years past, but some things you truly appreciate only after the doing.) In year's past we have shown up at Oma's with our pie or rolls or broccoli casserole and enjoyed the bounty she spent days preparing. Secondly we realized it takes a lot of planning to pull it off well. We wanted our family favorites and that meant we were busy.

Matt likes to do everything just a bit bigger and just a bit better. He wanted to make the most of this first Thanksgiving in PA. Now the big question? Do we smoke a turkey or fry a turkey? That's a no brainer. We do both of course.

Smoked
or fried? (This is actually fried Tom #2 that we (I mean Matt) cooked last night. His Thanksgiving turkey was a bit dark, although it tasted great and no photos were allowed.)

You do the math, two turkeys + three Prines + two missionaries = lots of leftovers.

All done!
